Aaron grew up spending most of his time running around outside and playing sports.  His love for basketball, tennis, lacrosse, and weightlifting led him to pursue a degree in Exercise Science at the University of Tennessee.

While at the University of Tennessee, Aaron was fortunate to be a Student Athletic Trainer for the Lady Vols.  Here he learned valuable experience working to rehab and optimize world class athlete performance. The Lady Vols Athletic Training was an innovative sports medicine team that included a highly integrated approach, he saw athletes return to their sports not only sooner than expected, but also in better shape than they were before the injury.

After graduating from UT, Aaron pursued his Doctor of Physical Therapy at New York University.  Here in NYC Aaron was trained in a renowned educational environment and exposed to some of the greatest Physical Therapy practices in the world.

After receiving his doctorate degree, Aaron remained in NYC working in private out-patient orthopedic clinics in Manhattan.  During this time he worked with many elite runners, triathletes, crossfitters, olympic lifters, and other athletes.  He was mentored by Chris Johnson, a world class Ironman and PT. He also refined his ability to bring this high level of rehab to the everyday population.  In this high-demand NYC environment, Aaron was able to succeed in resolving injuries and improving performance in many different types of individuals.

His next professional environment was much different. After moving to Asheville he got a job in an orthopedic practice in Hendersonville. Here he spent many hours rehabbing post-op patients (total knee replacements, rotator cuff repairs, lumbar fusion, etc). He also refined his skills in working with the older population, which required a different approach than the high level athletes he worked with in NYC.

Throughout his career Aaron has been an avid writer.  He maintains a professional website, has published articles on many different websites, and even been selected as a content reviewer for biomechanic sections of healthcare books.

Aaron has taken many continuing education courses throughout his carreer, including: Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), Functional Range Systems (FRR), Functional Movement Systems (FMS), Strongfirst Kettlebell Training, Mechanical Diagnosis Technique (MDT/McKenzie), Active Release Technique (ART), and many more.

When Aaron is not in the clinic he enjoys playing guitar, reading, exercising, and spending time with his wife, kids, and pets.
