DR. GAELYN ROGERS

DPT, OCS, CSCS, FMS, FMT

Gaelyn is an orthopedic physical therapist and co-founder of Black Bear Physical Therapy.  She received her doctorate in physical therapy from NYU in 2010. She is a board certified orthopedic specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as well as a certified strength and conditioning specialist from the National Strength and Condition Association .

Gaelyn utilizes a holistic approach to rehabilitation through manual therapy, corrective exercise, functional strength training, neuro-based exercise, dry needling, and movement pattern re-education. She has certifications in SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment),  FMS (Functional Movement Screen), and RockTape Functional Movement Taping (FMT).  Her training includes ART (Active Release Technique) of the lower extremity, McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) and Postural Restoration Institute methods.

Gaelyn enjoys working with all orthopedic patient populations as well as specializing in pediatric and adolescent athletes/gymnasts. Her favorite thing about physical therapy is that each patient is a new puzzle to solve. She likes to analyze the problem at hand and then systematically implement treatment strategies while forging a relationship with her patient as they improve and heal.

She grew up in NYC and Connecticut and now lives in Asheville, NC with her husband, 2 kids, and dog, Rigby. She enjoys playing with her friends and family, exercising (including running, yoga, cycling, strength training, and dancercise!), reading, gardening, and just being outside.
